MICHELLE’S SPECIAL SALSA

Dance it or eat it, either way salsa is good for you. It boosts your mood, makes you hot and burns extra calories. 

Burns extra calories? – Apparently chille peppers in salsa contain chemicals that trigger heat sensations, and creates a metabolic effect called diet-induced thermogenesis…. But it won’t work here, I left out the chillies!

Ingredients

  • 400 g tin of Chopped Tomatoes, drained

  • 1 large Roasted Red Pepper (you can buy them in a jar from Lidl) drained and finely chopped

  • 1 small Onion finely chopped

  • 1-2 Garlic Cloves, crushed

  • 1 tbsp Chopped fresh Parsley

  • 1 tbsp Chopped fresh Basil

  • 1-2 tbsp Freshly squozen Lemon

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Method

  • Blitz all ingredients together in a food mixer until chunky (not too smooth!)
  • Serve with Tortilla Chips

  • MACROS in total: 20g Carbs – 4.8g Protein – 1.1g Fat
