CHEESY WAFFLE-CHAFFLE’S

Growing up in the UK I didn’t know there was such a thing as a Waffle (it was a long time ago)…

That’s because I was brought up in a traditional English household where certain things were not on the menu i.e. anything exotic.

Chaffles are a keto version of a waffle. These low carb waffles are made of cheese and egg. That’s why they’re called a Chaffle –  A cheesy waffle!

This Keto Chaffle recipe is a delicious, crispy, low-carb alternative to bread.  It’s an amazing substitute when making sandwiches!

Ingredients

  • 1 large Egg – Separated

  • 1 tbsp Melted Butter – Cooled

  • 50 g Grated Mozzarella

  • 1/2 tbsp Coconut Flour

  • 1/4 tsp Baking Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Pink Himalayan Salt

  • Ground Black Pepper

Method

  • Preheat Waffle Maker
  • Whisk the egg white until it forms stiff peaks
  • In a separate bowl: mix the egg yolks, cheese, coconut flour, onion powder, garlic powder, baking powder and salt and pepper until well combined
  • Slowly add the melted butter, mixing to ensure it is a smooth consistency
  • Gently fold the whisked egg whites into the yolk mixture. Try to keep as much of the air and fluffiness as possible
  • Place enough of the waffle mixture into the warm waffle maker to make one waffle. Cook until golden
  • Repeat until all the mixture has been used – the yield will depend on the size of your waffle maker
